A master in the culinary field with over 30 years under his apron, Chef, Donnie MacLeod, offers contemporary, authentic Scottish dishes coupled with world-class hospitality. MacLeod and his team have developed a variety of menus, offering both a fusion of modern Scottish cuisine with international flair, and award-winning, traditional, and authentic Scottish cuisine.
MacLeod treats your tastebuds with fresh, local seafood, and wild fare, while also gathering and preparing produce from some of the best farms throughout Speyside and the vegetable gardens from Brodie Castle.
Enjoy traditional Scottish breakfasts at Brodie Castle Artist Retreat complete with Lorne sausage, bacon and eggs, black pudding, porridge, beans, complete with a tattie scone.
Several evenings will be filled with the smell of freshly prepared culinary delights from MacLeod and his hard-working, talented team. Ooooh, I cannot wait to taste his delicious Cranachan, a traditional Scottish dessert. We are thrilled to have him booked as our chef at our artist retreat!

Self Catered Meals & Other Dining Options at Brodie Castle
If you choose not to go on the day or evening trips, breakfast and some lunch items are available daily, that you may prepare at your leisure on the days we are out on painting and sight seeing locations.
The Lairds Wing at Brodie Castle has been designed for self-catering, however we are having six catered and chef prepared dinners and three traditional catered breakfasts. On days that we do not have a catered breakfast, we will have a continental breakfasts available for you. There is also the castle cafe and tea room where you may purchase wonderful soups, fruit, cakes and desserts and the nearby Brodie Country Fare and Olde Mill Inn (a short walk away) that serves award winning food.
If you choose not to go on the day or evening trips, restaurant outings, or miss breakfast, breakfasts items will be available in the kitchen, as are self catered some lunch items that you may prepare at your leisure.

The historic Old Mill Inn is nestled in a country setting, along the banks of the Muckle Burn and near the renowned Culbin Forest. It is only a fifteen minute walk, 0.4 tenths of a mile, from historical Brodie Castle and a brief stroll, 3 miles to the celebrated shopping destination, Brodie Countryfare. Picturesquely located between Forres in Moray and Nairn in the Scottish Highlands, it serves award winning cuisine and has won the 2020 travelers choice award, voted in the top 10 % for restaurants worldwide.
