SCOTLAND 7-NIGHT ARTIST RETREAT PRICING

In order for us to have the Artist Excursions and the stables as our workspace, a minimum of 8 participants must be registered. There is a limit of 12 participants, as there are only 7 rooms, some are equipped with double beds as others contain twin beds.

Cancellations:

If the retreat is canceled because of a low number of participants, or because of Omicron/Covid, or other unforeseen circumstance restricting our travel into Scotland, then a full refund will be administered.

Brodie Studio reserves the right to cancel any reservation due to lack of full payment by the FEB. 16th, 2024 due date.

Please also note: Our participant safety and comfort is a priority!!

Brodie Studio has the right to cancel any reservation/or remove a participant from the retreat if a participant shows behavior that could become a distress or endanger the safety of others. PLEASE READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS THOROUGHLY, AS IT INCLUDES CANCELLATION & OTHER IMPORTANT POLICIES

DEPOSIT & PAYMENT DETAILS

Deposit: $450.00 - (Non-Refundable), will be subtracted from the total cost.

Deposit refunded if the artist retreat is canceled.

100 percent of the remaining balance is due in full, Feb.16th, 2024.

Retreat Cost

Total Cost: $2800.00 (Shared Room)

Per Person- Shared Room - Double occupancy (roommate- twin) or Double Occupancy (couple- shared double bed)

Please Note: Our prices are based on shared room costs. We assume that people traveling on their own are prepared to share accommodation. Our prices are based on a shared room cost except where stated otherwise.

Room Layout and Restrictions

8 twin beds. Two beds in each room (These are filled first)

3 double beds. One in each room (3 total rooms) 2 of these are currently available and are reserved for couples (husband & wife, mother-daughter, partners, etc). If it looks like we have no couples registering, then these rooms will be available for single occupancy, and the supplement will apply.

Additional Costs

An $850.00 single occupancy supplement will apply if it is not possible to arrange a share with another guest, or you requested single occupancy, and no couples registered and your request was able to be granted.

Room occupancy registration is based on a first come first serve basis.

The price does not include airfare or arrival and departure transportation, as some participants will be traveling to London, and will tour England or Ireland for several days before traveling onto Scotland.

PLEASE NOTE: There are only 5 parking spaces at the Laird’s Wing. Two of these have been taken. If you would like to have a car parked at the Laird’s Wing, please contact us so that we may update parking availability.

Also note that the Laird’s Wing of the historical 800 year old Brodie Castle and does not have elevators. All bedrooms are located on the 2nd or 3rd floors. Bathrooms are shared, are located on your hallway, and have a tub with a hand held shower head. There is one standing shower on the 2nd Floor. Again, you are in a very historical castle, so bathrooms are not in the rooms.

 

EDINBURGH 2 NIGHT (POST TRIP) EXPERIENCE

Invoices will be updated as soon as we know the exact cost of the Edinburgh trip, sometime in late July or Aug. of 2023, when reservations open up.

ROOM COST + $130.00 Coach trip to Pitlochary & Edinburgh -The hired coach and driver will transport us to Pitlochary for lunch and then on to Edinburgh to Market Street Hotel.

From approximately $ 575.00 and up for two nights. (We will know the exact pricing for your room, August of 2023 as it is too early to know the exact room pricing at this time)

Pricing starts (summer rates) just under $300 dollars per night for a room with one double bed, and increases with room(s) sizes, king bed, and views.

It may also be possible to adjust a king room to two twin beds where you may share a room.

Hotel: Market Street Hotel, Edinburgh

While we will be handling the room costs in Edinburgh, you will be responsible for any incidentals and will need to provide the hotel with a credit card upon check-in.

 

What Does The Brodie Castle Artist Retreat Include?

What the artist treat includes:

  • 7 night shared room occupancy with twin beds in the Lairds wing. Choice of twin bed with a roommate, shared room with a double bed (spouse, partner, relative, etc.)…or private double bed, single occupancy.

  • Each floor has shared bathrooms with tubs… one standing shower is on the 1st floor with a water closet and basin and one bathroom with a tub, basin and WC. The 2nd floor has two bathrooms with bathtubs and hand held shower heads and basins and a WC. There is one bathroom on the ground floor with a WC and basin (sink) only (there are three floors).

  • Some Linens (Please bring an extra towel)

  • Laundry Room with washer and dryer located off the courtyard

  • Champagne reception upon arrival.

  • A surprise art activity that includes some art materials

  • Meals, coffee, tea, sodas, and snacks: six catered dinners, three traditional Scottish breakfasts, four continental breakfasts, and self-catered lunch items.

  • Access to all areas of the Laird’s Wing in the castle. The kitchen has a microwave, coffee maker, stove, refrigerator, and freezer

  • Snacks, beverages

  • Transportation to all-day trips and painting excursions

  • Tickets to all planned attractions and tours ( Distillery, Elgin Cathedral Ruins, Brodie Castle & Culloden Battle Field)

  • On-Going Instruction and in-progress critiques

  • Guest artist demonstrations and discussion

  • Live figure model during demonstration

  • Some basic art supplies such as charcoal and newsprint and drawing boards

  • Storyteller and any live performances at the castle

  • Alcoholic beverages served at dinner

What it does not include:

  • Airfare

  • Transportation to and from airport

  • Transportation back to castle if you decide to stay behind on your own at an off site location.

  • Ability to smoke or vape!

  • Meals or drinks at restaurants or other off-site locations

  • Bar tabs

  • Alcoholic beverages outside of provided dinners, reception

  • Art supplies such as traveling easel, paints, paint brushes and drawing materials (painting surfaces such as panels will be available for purchase at the stables)

  • Personal items

  • Air-conditioning, but the rooms are comfortable

  • Use of Brodie Studio van or car

  • Guaranteed parking if you plan on having a car due to limited parking in front of Laird’s Wing (Please contact us if you plan on having a car)

  • Refunds if you have to leave retreat unexpectedly, or are asked to leave due to unacceptable behavior

What Does The Edinburgh Post Trip Include?

  • Coach transportation from Brodie Castle to the Market Street Hotel in Edinburgh

  • Hotel

  • Group companionship, sightseeing and group reservations to Edinburgh eateries and landmarks

What it does not include:

  • Tours ( however, most museums in Edinburgh are free)

  • Performances (theater, concerts, etc.)

  • Transportation throughout Edinburgh (ride a hop on hop off bus to the museums for a donation of one pound)

  • Meals and all types of beverages

  • Transportation to airport upon departure
